“A story engraved in Stone”

In 1966 a vineyard farm in San Martino Buon Albergo in the province of Verona was transformed in order to give life to the Lucchi family business. An entrepreneurial spirit and passion drove the founder Leonello Lucchi to make important investments, buying land and obtaining quarries in some areas of Italy from the start.

In 1967 Lucchi F.lli (Lucchi Brothers) was founded, its main business activities being the extraction, working and commercialisation of marble.

In 1968 the first trade fair at Sant’Ambrogio di Valpolicella was held, and the company was one of the first to participate in this exhibition.

In 1970 the company started to expand internationally, firstly into Germany, Great Britain, Israel, Switzerland, Belgium and Tunisia, among others.

Between 1970 and 1980 Lucchi. Flli increased its production plant in order to satisfy demand from the Middle Eastern markets and began to provide tiles and flooring.

In 1992 the company added the production of cobblestones and garden ornaments to the production of marble.

In 2000 Lucchi Chemical was incorporated into the company thanks to which Lucchi Granulati was able to widely increase its range of products. Natural and coloured quarts and sands which, with appropriate transformations, are used for many purposed in the national and international market.

Between 2000 and 2013 both the company and Leonello Lucchi received many honours and accolades: amongst which were honorary citizenship of Selva di Progno, from the Ente Fiera Verona (organisers of Trade Fairs in Verona), "an award of merit for participation in twenty editions of Marble Machines", from the Antica Libera Corporazione dell’Arte della Pietra, and, on the occasion of the 90th birthday of the founder, an award ”as a sign of gratitude for the spirit of hard work, together with the merit of  both human and civil commitment demonstrated by the company” from the City of Verona.
